WE CAN ALL
BE HEALTHIER
For the most part, our daily diets are
very much lacking in the basic ingredients which our body requires to
efficiently do its work. Few of us take the time to think, "Am
I eating healthy. Am I taking as good of care of my body as I
take care of my new car, boat or fancy toy?" You know the
truth. Few of us really work at being as healthy as we can be.
Our eating habits are terrible...really! And many of you are
unaware of it. We are so damn gullible! Think about it for a
minute. We go to the store to buy food and what's in our
carts? Boxes and cans of processed foods with a variety of
chemicals to enhance the color, taste and shelf life of the
product. Some of those products are so "processed" that they
have very little nutritional value. Kids cereals - give me
sugar Momma! Oh ya, they have calories, but that does not
necessarily equate to good nutrition. Think of calories on a
scale of, "How much of this is going to my fat stores?"
Need a mirror? Just
look around for yourself. We put far too much trust in
believing that all the companies out there packaging the food we
eat have our "best" interests as their primary motivation.
I like the analogy of us versus our new
car. In one of my medical offices there were a couple of exam
rooms which had windows. With the blinds held back a new car
dealership could easily be seen, and that proved to be a helpful
thing as time went by. It seems we can all relate to the
needs of our cars. You know the drill. To keep that new car running well, free of problems
and to continue the warranty, we have to make sure the routine
maintenance is performed on time and correctly. Otherwise, we
could potentially end up walking and/or paying big time if we
didn't return it to the dealership for servicing at the
appropriate times. Gotta keep that car running good don't we!
Hmmm...that's a different noise...its pulling to the right...the
CD player is skipping occasionally...better take it in and get
it fixed. But when it comes to our bodies health and basic
requirements we frequently short change it. We take it for
granted. We often feed it garbage, expect it to run at peak
performance and wonder what went wrong when it doesn't. But not
our car - or boat - it's too precious! We're careful what we
feed it. So...why don't we do the same for the most
important vehicle we will ever own? Yep, I'm guilty too.
Not all food, calories and preparations
are equal. For example, the nutritional content we receive from
raw fruits and vegetables is higher than it is after we
cook it. Heat changes a lot of things. Then there is the soil
and environment where these foods are grown. Each location
can vary greatly which also causes the same foods to have a
differing nutritional content. For example, the food we grow today is different than what it was in our grandparents day,
and often not as nutrituious;
different soil, different environment. And our food today commonly
has traces of hazardous chemicals and heavy metals within it
because that is what is in the air we breath and the water we
drink. Scary but true statements.
What we put in our bodies has contributed
to some of the diseases we find ourselves dealing with today.
How many of you remember any kid with ADD, ADHD or the like
fifty years ago? Why are we as a people fatter? Why are there
more people with diabetes? And the list goes on... Do you feel
sorry for those people, yourself or the next generation? Wish
you could change it, make it better, live in a healthier place?
Sure you do; just like the rest of us. Wish you could make a
difference? You can! Start with yourself! You don't need to
wait on someone else to tell you what you know is true. Just
take the time and use some common sense. If you are on this
website, you have the means and skills to research anything on
nutrition...its out there. And I'm starting to do more of the
same things myself because, well, it helps my dancing and makes
me feel better, live happier and does wonders for my attitude.
Oxidative stress and degenerative
diseases. It's real! It happens to all of us, within
us, every day of our lives, 24-7, and many people are totally unaware of it.
We hear the buzz words and what we should do to help ourselves,
but too often avoid doing anything about it. We hesitate
to make a change (and most of us very much dislike making a
change) - and then soon forget about it. But the war
within us continues relentlessly. Imagine how you would
react to the following scenario.
Our country is at war in the Middle East
fighting terrorism and your son or daughter is deployed in the
combat zone. Everything possible has been supplied to them
for their survival and defense. Engagements are frequent,
things are quite messy, but because they have the proper
equipment and support, the success rate is high and casualties
are low. No one likes it, yet it must be done. But
then, as
time goes on, our government decides it has other things it would
like to be doing and stops some of the support for our troops
fighting the war. Supplies are sent to them, but some of
the basic necessities are missing or are limited.
"Bullets, mortars and armor... Hey, you guys are good! You
don't need all that stuff. Just use what we give you - but
don't let us down - love you guys." Do you see a
problem here? Well, I hate to be the messenger of bad news
but that is what many of you are doing to yourselves; your body.
Give it some thought and be honest.
Our bodies require some basic nutrition to work properly and we
tend to give it only part of what it needs. What we eat
often deprives us of the essentials for good health. Give
your body what it requires to keep you healthy, allow it to work
like it is designed. Fruits, veggies and less processed
food. You know where to find it. You'll live a
better life for it.
Recently a friend informed me about
something relatively new on our market which helps us achieve
better nutrition, and she went on to describe the benefits she
attributes to this product. Hmmm...sounds interesting, but
I'm skeptical (comes with the professional territory), so I did
my own investigating and came up with multiple reliable,
scientific resources, and they all said the same thing.
Many of the basic nutrients our bodies need to work properly are
contained within it. It's loaded with antioxidants which
shoot off the charts above all of the other like sources.
It's all natural and doesn't contain fillers to make it look and
taste better, and it tastes good. Ok, I'm convinced that
it's legit so I try it and I've been consuming it for over two
weeks now. I will also add that I have noted some
improvements to my overall health in a gradual sense. Let
me make this point clearly. To my knowledge there is
nothing within this product which provides you with a "kick in the pants wake up
call." All you are doing is providing your body with what
it is asking for and filling up its supply lockers so it can
efficiently fight your internal war. No magic bullets or
fancy quick acting remedies! Just the basics.
